Your Role

The Team Leader – Social and Community Participation will oversee the service delivery and the people, physical and financial resources of the DLi Social and Community Participation program. The Team Leader will be required to lead a team of support workers who work alongside Clients within both a Centre base & community context. You will create a positive and effective team environment to support Employee engagement and positive Client outcomes.

 

Your Experience

  • Proven experience in the operational management and design of tailored, outcomes based social and community participation programs including Day Options
  • Work collaboratively with clients, their families and key internal and external stakeholders
  • You have experience in leading, coaching and developing support workers, including performance management
  • Oversee and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance client experience and satisfaction and minimise operational risk
  • Experience in coordinating client meet and greets and onboarding processes, including the development of required documentation such as individual support plans and risk assessments
  • Knowledge of the NDIS practice standards and safeguarding requirements

Requirements of the Position

 

Essential

  • Certificate III or above in Disability/ Community Services or other tertiary equivalent or relevant industry experience.
  • Proof of the right to work in Australia.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening.
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Safe Environments for Children & Young people certificate.
  • First Aid & CPR
  • NDIS Quality, Safety and You Certificate.
  • Demonstrated success in a similar role.
  • Experience in community & centre-based inclusion work service delivery for people living with disabilities.

Desirable

  • Certificate/Diploma in Front-line Management
  • Medication Administration, Basic Continence Care, and Infection Control accreditation
  • Manual Handling Certificate
  • Current Australian Driver’s licence or ability to travel independently to other DLi sites.

Special Conditions

  • Participation in the service-wide oncall roster providing support to Community Support Workers outside of business hours.
