Your Experience

You will bring a person-centred approach, placing the person at the centre of their service. You will work collaboratively, tailoring your approach to the needs of the individual. You will quickly establish rapport with clients and their families and have clear and effective communication skills. You will have excellent attention to detail and accuracy in case notes and record-keeping. You will be comfortable supporting clients with intellectual/physical disabilities, high medical needs, mental health diagnosed or high behavioural concerns.

 

Position details

DLi has a dedicated Community Support Worker casual team who pick up shifts across our Adelaide Metro sites that cover Social and Community Participation (both group & individual supports) and In home Support.

It is essential that you are willing and able to use your own private vehicle to transport clients during supports.

 

Your Availability

We have casual shifts available during the week (Monday - Friday).

We are looking for staff that are available to work at least one day a week, Monday to Friday, 7am - 4pm, and for shorter shifts of 2-3 hours during morning and daytime. Wherever possible we will link shifts together.

This is a casual role, and shifts are offered on an as-needs basis within the Adelaide Metropolitan area.

Recruitment Process

  • Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a phone interview and then, if successful, to a face-to-face interview.

 

Role Requirements

  • A minimum of Certificate III, IV or diploma in Disability, Individual Support, Nursing or equivalent.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Medication Administration, Infection Control and Mealtime Management certificates will be highly preferred and if not, willingness to obtain these will be required.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
  • Current Manual Handling certificate.
  • Evidence of right to work in Australia.
  • A full Australian Driver's Licence.
  • Current CPI training (within 12months) - highly desirable.
  • Epilepsy with Midazolam certificate - highly desirable.
  • Safe Environment for Children and Young People Training - highly desirable.
  • Ability and willingness to drive and use pool vehicle or own vehicle to transport clients during supports - Essential.
